Reproductive & Prenatal Healthcare
American Association of Birth Centers (AABC)
The American Association of Birth Centers is a multidisciplinary membership organization of freestanding birth centers, alongside midwifery units, individuals and organizations that support the birth center model. Their website provides a description of birth centers and a guide to finding one near you.
American College of Nurse-Midwives
The American College of Nurse-Midwives is a professional organization for certified nurse-midwives and certified midwives. Their website provides more information about midwifery care and how to find a midwife in your area.
Count the Kicks is an evidence-based program that teaches expectant parents about the importance of tracking fetal movements. Their goal is to make kick counting a common practice for all expectant parents in their third trimester of pregnancy. They provide a guide for counting kicks, other resources, as well as an app.
Doulas of North America (DONA)
Doulas are specialized (usually non-medical) healthcare providers who offer emotional, physical, and educational support during and after childbirth, including guidance on relaxation techniques during labor and help with breast and chestfeeding. While doulas do not deliver babies, they can help make the birth experience more comfortable and supported. The DONA website includes a national directory of doulas by area—scroll down to find a West Virginia–specific list—and provides additional information and education about doula services.
Family Care Women’s Health Care
Family Care’s sexual and reproductive health team provides a full range of services to support individuals across the spectrum of reproductive health needs. They offer OB/GYN and midwifery care, and are home to West Virginia’s only accredited freestanding birth center. Services include routine gynecologic care and surgery, birth control and family planning, menopause and hormone-related care, health screenings, basic fertility evaluation, and patient education.
Midwives Alliance of West Virginia (MAWV)
The Midwives Alliance of West Virginia is a nonprofit professional organization representing midwives across the state. They offer resources and support for connecting with licensed midwives practicing in West Virginia.
Title X Family Planning Clinic Locator
Title X clinics provide confidential, low- or no-cost reproductive health care, including pregnancy testing and counseling, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and preconception care. These clinics are open to people of all ages, regardless of income or insurance status. West Virginia Perinatal Partnership
WV Perinatal Partnership is a non-profit statewide quality collaborative of healthcare professionals and public and private organizations working together to improve perinatal health in West Virginia. They provide education and a resource library for parents who are expecting. They also have a Doula directory that you can find here.
Mental Health
Moms’ Mental Health Matters is an initiative that educates and provides resources to parents, families, and health care providers on the risk factors of depression and anxiety for parents during and after pregnancy.

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is a professional organization for doctors who specialize in reproductive health and childbirth. While ACOG doesn’t provide direct services, they offer trusted, evidence-based information on topics like pregnancy, birth, and overall reproductive health. Their guidance—such as recommendations on vaccines during pregnancy—helps people make informed decisions and have more confident, informed conversations with their OB/GYNs.
The National Partnership for Women & Families hosts Childbirth Connection, an initiative dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based information and guidance to help individuals navigate maternity care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, Evidence Based Birth is a great starting point for exploring research-based information about your childbirth options. It’s designed to help you feel more confident and informed in conversations with your healthcare providers. In addition to virtual childbirth classes, they also offer a free podcast that breaks down the evidence behind a wide range of pregnancy and birth topics in a clear and engaging way.
MedlinePlus Provides health information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine. Their website on pregnancy provides links to a wealth of informative resources including reports on everything from nutrition to teen pregnancy to financial issues.
Chest & Breastfeeding Resources
Human milk provides important health benefits for both babies and the people who feed them. It contains the right balance of nutrients and adapts over time to meet a baby’s changing needs. Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal (AWHONN)
AWHONN is an association dedicated to promote and advocate excellence in nursing practice, education and research in reproductive, obstetric, and neonatal healthcare. Their Breastfeeding Resources for Parents page provides resources for parents as it relates to breast and chest feeding and lactation support.
Kelly Mom is a website that provides evidence-based information in chest/breastfeeding and parenting.
La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, and nonsectarian organization committed to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to parents who choose to breastfeed or chestfeed. The organization also offers health care professionals access to continuing education and the latest research in lactation management. They have two chapters located in West Virginia: La Leche League of the Greenbrier Valley and La Leche of Southern WV.
Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank (MAMMB)
MAMMB is a non-profit organization that is a reliable supplier of safe, ethically sourced donor milk to both inpatient and outpatient babies with medical needs in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and surrounding areas.
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health has a page that offers resources and education on breast/chest feeding.

All-Options is a national nonprofit organization that offers compassionate, judgment-free support for people navigating the full spectrum of pregnancy-related experiences—including abortion, adoption, infertility, parenting, and pregnancy loss. Using both direct service and social change strategies, All-Options promotes a model of care rooted in dignity, respect, and unconditional support.
Their All-Options Talkline (1-888-493-0092) provides free, confidential peer counseling to anyone in the U.S. and Canada. Trained counselors offer open-hearted, non-directive support, no matter where a person is in their decision-making process or parenting journey.
They also offer Faith Aloud (1-888-717-5010), a clergy counseling line that connects callers with trained, supportive clergy from diverse faith backgrounds for spiritual guidance during pregnancy, abortion, and parenting experiences.

Burlington United Methodist Family Services
Burlington United Methodist Family Services (BUMFS) is a church-affiliated, charitable human services organization that offers compassionate support to individuals and families across West Virginia. Children’s Home Society of West Virginia
If you’re pregnant and unsure if you are ready to be a parent, Children’s Home Society of West Virginia offers free and confidential adoptive counseling for pregnant birth parents. One of their professionally trained social workers will meet with you in person, no matter where in West Virginia you live.
Friends in Adoption (FIA) is a national, non-profit, pro-choice adoption agency that centers the needs and voices of birthing parents. Specializing in infant and newborn adoptions, FIA offers compassionate, judgment-free support for those considering adoption as part of their pregnancy journey.
