West Virginia Fertility Institute is led by Dr. Tamer Yalcinkaya and provides fertility treatments to patients in West Virginia and surrounding areas.
Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine – Cabell Huntington Hospital
Having a baby can be one of life’s greatest joys, but it’s a joy that is denied many couples because of infertility. From accurate diagnosis of the causes of infertility to a variety of treatment options, the specialists at Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine can offer hope and often, success, for many infertile couples.

Adoption Support for Prospective Parents
Burlington United Methodist Family Services
The BUMFS is a church-related charitable human services organization that offers a variety of resources to help families in West Virginia, including foster and adoptive care resource like home studies, adoptive parent training, domestic newborn placements, post-placement and post-adoptive services, and free counseling and support services to birth parents, as well as counseling to adult adoptees.
The Children’s Home Society offers child welfare, behavioral health, social casework, and advocacy services, including foster care and adoption from 13 primary locations across the state.
Friends in Adoption is a non-profit, pro-choice, national licensed newborn/infant adoption with a focus on helping people make informed decisions concerning adoptions with offices based in New York and Vermont.
Genesis Foster Care & Adoption Services
Genesis Youth Center, Inc. offers emergency shelter and supportive services for youth ages 10–18 experiencing homelessness in West Virginia. In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Genesis also provides foster care and adoption services, helping connect children and teens with safe, stable, and nurturing homes.
MWV is a nonprofit organization based in Hurricane, West Virginia, dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families across the state. They have two programs, one being FrameWorks, which provides support for those interested in foster care or kinship care to understand the system and find a placement agency. They also have a resource library for foster and adoptive parents.
KVC West Virginia is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect. Our team of caring experts delivers a range of essential services, including in-home family support, foster care, adoption, in-home mental health therapy, and youth educational support – all to fulfill our mission of enriching and enhancing the lives of children and families.
Open Adoption & Family Services
Open Adoption & Family Services (OA&FS) is a nonprofit, pro-choice agency that supports individuals in navigating all their pregnancy options with compassion, dignity, and respect. For those who choose adoption, OA&FS specializes in fully open, child-centered adoptions where birth and adoptive families build ongoing, healthy relationships that prioritize the lifelong needs of the child. Their approach emphasizes transparency, consent, and mutual respect—allowing adopted children to grow up with access to their origin stories and connections to their birth families. While OA&FS is based in Oregon and Washington, they offer extensive educational materials, counseling, and guidance that are accessible to anyone considering adoption, including those in West Virginia and beyond.
PACT is a national, nonprofit adoption organization committed to centering the needs and voices of adopted children, especially adoptees of color. Known for its honest, child-centered, and anti-racist approach, PACT offers a wide range of resources specifically designed to support adoptive families navigating transracial adoption. Their services include educational webinars, counseling, family camps, and literature focused on race, identity development, and adoptive parenting. PACT provides critical guidance to adoptive parents—particularly white parents raising children of color—on how to actively address racism, build cultural competency, and create affirming environments where adopted children can thrive.
The Potomac Center is West Virginia’s only intensive training facility specifically designed for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who also experience behavioral challenges. In addition to residential services, the center supports foster care placement and adoption efforts through its Partners in Permanency project, in collaboration with the Bureau for Children and Families.
